Customer Reviews
Overall rating: 4.8 / 5 from 76 reviews.
I was actually surprised by how easy the installation was. The product description mentioned it could take around 30 minutes, but I finished mine in about 10. To be fair, I am a pretty handy person and already had the tools I needed at home, so that probably helped.
The reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the instruction booklet. It is a little too simple in my opinion. There are not many detailed steps, and if this is your first time installing something under the sink, I can see how some parts might be confusing.
I reached out to customer service about it, and they responded much faster than I expected. I was prepared to wait 24 to 48 hours, but they got back to me pretty quickly and sent me a link to their online installation guide. That made everything much clearer.
I also suggested that they include more detailed instructions in the package, especially for people who are not familiar with plumbing connections. They seemed very open to the feedback, which I appreciated.
I believe they may have added the online instructions to the product page as well, although I have not checked again.
Other than the booklet, I really have no complaints. The installation itself was simple, the size works well under my sink, and I appreciate how helpful their support team was. Just think the printed instructions could use a little more detail.
One thing I wanted to mention is that after installing this filter, the water flow does get noticeably slower compared to before. Personally, I do not really mind it because I understand that the water has to pass through the filtration media before coming out of the faucet, so some reduction in flow is expected.
My wife, on the other hand, is still getting used to it lol. She keeps saying the water used to come out much faster, especially when she is washing vegetables or filling up a pot for cooking. We actually had a little disagreement about this because I think it is a reasonable trade off for having filtered water, but she just misses the stronger flow.
Funny enough, even though she complains about the water pressure sometimes, she is also the one who likes having the filter the most. Before this, she would always avoid drinking straight from the tap. Now she feels much more comfortable filling her glass directly from the kitchen faucet. We also use it for washing vegetables, preparing food and cooking, which makes us both feel better about the water we use every day.
I would not say the slower flow is a problem with the product itself, just something to be aware of if you are used to really strong water pressure. It definitely takes a little getting used to.
Overall we both really like it, even if we still disagree about the water flow. For us, having filtered water available right from the kitchen sink is worth that small adjustment.
I used to have one of those faucet water filters, and honestly it was fine when it was just me and my husband. But we recently welcomed a new family member, so I started thinking more about our drinking water and whether we needed something better for everyday use.
I spent quite a while looking at under sink systems, but most of the ones I found were pretty bulky and required drilling a separate hole in the countertop. Since we rent, I asked our landlord about it and unfortunately got a no. I really did not want to risk losing our deposit over a water filter.
Then I came across this one while searching online. At first I was a little confused because it looked so much smaller than the under sink systems I had been researching. I actually had to read through the product details a few times to make sure I understood what it was.
What convinced me was that it does not need electricity or a separate faucet, and I would not have to drill into our countertop. That was exactly what I had been trying to find.
Installation was a little confusing at first because this was my first time working with an under sink filter, but once I understood the connections, it was pretty straightforward. I did need a wrench to tighten one of the fittings properly.
Now that everything is installed, I am really happy with it. It does not take up much room in the cabinet, and we can still use our kitchen sink normally. For our family and our rental situation, this is pretty much exactly what we needed. Really glad I found it.
Overall this is exactly the kind of under sink filter I was looking for. The size is great, it fits easily under my sink without taking up much space, and for the price I think it is a really good option.
The only issue I ran into was with my cold water shut off valve. The threaded connection on my valve was a little shorter, while the connector that comes with this filter is fairly deep. Even after tightening it all the way down, it still had a small leak because it could not fully seal.
Luckily I already had a 1/4 inch sealing gasket at home, so I used my own part and the leak was gone right away. If I did not already have that gasket, I probably would have had to stop the installation until I found one. I think it would be nice if the kit included an extra sealing washer or a slightly different connector to fit more types of valves.
The product does come with a no thread tape fitting, but I found I had to wrap quite a few layers of thread tape to get a proper seal. Since I had a 1/4 inch PPR silicone sealing gasket in my toolbox, I ended up using that instead and it fit perfectly with no more leaks.
Once everything was installed, though, I have been really happy with it. It is compact, easy to hide under the sink, and performs exactly the way I wanted. For someone looking for a small under sink filter instead of a bulky system, this has been a great fit.
I live in an apartment by myself and have been dealing with some skin issues, so I started looking into getting a water filter. I talked with my landlord first about replacing the faucet, but they said no because it would affect the apartment and probably my deposit. Since I rent, I really did not want to risk that.
At first I looked at regular under sink systems, but most of them are pretty big and really designed for a whole family. I did not need something that large. I spent quite a while researching until I came across this one.
Honestly, I was surprised by the size. Compared to most under sink filters, especially the electric RO ones, this one is much more compact. It is not a reverse osmosis system, it is a pp cotton+active carbon+UF filter, but for my needs it is more than enough. Because of my skin issue, I even asked my doctor, and they said filtering down to 0.01 micron is perfectly suitable for what I was looking for.
Another reason I picked this one is because the installation is much easier than most under sink systems. It does not require drilling a hole for a separate faucet. You only connect the inlet and outlet, which made it much more renter friendly. I did struggle a little with one of the connectors because it needed a bit more strength than I expected, and I did not have a wrench at home. the rest was easy.
Since I cannot drill into the cabinet wall, I just placed the unit inside the cabinet instead. It is still compact enough that I have plenty of room left for my cleaning supplies and other kitchen items. Overall it has been exactly what I was looking for. simple and renter friendly, and it fits my needs really well without taking over the whole cabinet. I am going to get another one for my kitchen as well.
Very happy with this system. It took me about half an hour to install and having a wrench nearby definitely helped with tightening the fittings. If you dont have a wrench to tight the connected parts. It will take much longer installation.
No. M8-2 uses PP cotton, activated carbon and ultrafiltration. It is not an RO system.
Will it fit my kitchen or RV?
Check the 130 × 110 × 345 mm dimensions, 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch connectors and 0.1–0.4 MPa working pressure. The listed water source is municipal tap water.
Does it need electricity?
No. The filter works using the incoming water pressure.
How often should I change the filter?
The listed interval is 12 months. Water quality and daily usage affect actual replacement timing.
